HERO qualifies for Neighborhood Assistance Program

In case you missed it: HERO has been awarded approval to participate in the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). Created to incentivize collaboration from the private sector in reducing poverty in Virginia, NAP allows individual donors or businesses to receive tax credits for donations to an eligible non-profit organization.

Now that HERO has qualified for NAP, you can receive state income tax credits when you make a donation! We’d be glad to tell you more about the process. Just email us at hello@herowaynesboro.org to learn more about how you can reduce your state income tax bill by 65% of the amount you donate to HERO!

To make your donation process as smooth and easy as possible, we’ve included some helpful references below. The Donor Fact Sheet contains information for donors, including an overview of the program, criteria for a qualifying donation, and instructions for both individual donors and businesses. The Reference Sheet for CNFs (Contribution Notification Forms) provides a list of required documentation to be submitted with each donation.
